Why I am a Marauder

I endorse and subscribe to the aims and goals of Moore’s Marauders organization in discovering and investigating World War Two historical sites in the Mariana Islands and throughout wider Micronesia and the Pacific. 

I also appreciate the collegial associations and consultations with the members of the group.

Noteworthy Accomplishments: 

  • Author of eleven books, and over 200 articles and reviews on Micronesian history and culture. 

  • Dr. Ballendorf has been a visiting professor in Germany, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, and for the first quarter of 2007 has been invited to lecture at Kagoshima University in Japan.

  • In connection with his research, Dr. Ballendorf was recently interviewed on The History Channel’s “Deep Sea Detectives.”

Marital Status:  Married. Wife, Francesca K. Remengesau. They have four children.
