My brother and I have lost friends and fellow members of the military family over the last
few years. These days, with modern warfare, compared to the Vietnam, Korea, and
World War I and II, the majority of our casualties are found and brought home to their
families. The families of those that have been lost and have paid the ultimate sacrifice
deserve closure. And, that is one of the principle aims of the Marauders—to help bring
closure to families that long for that peace of mind.
When I discovered the Marauder’s website and read the mission statement, I was
inspired, impressed with the organization’s resolve and commitment to such an admirable
pursuit. As I read about the diverse but extensively skilled backgrounds of the members, I
hoped that the Marauders might be willing to take on another dedicated member. Joining
the Marauders is a way that I could give back and honor fallen soldiers, airman, aviators,
sailors, marines and their families.
I hope to share the hard work that goes into fundraising and planning and
executing the recovery missions. I also hope to form relationships with the members in
order to further the cause of the Marauders and enrich my own life experiences. I am
hopeful that my training as a physician, diver, diving medical officer and my adventurous
“can do” personality would be assets to the Marauders.
